Live underwater and enjoy the amazing magical underwater life on Pemba island, Manta Resort, Tanzania off the east coast of Africa!
Imagine that you are in the middle of the vast ocean, trying to stand still on a floating wooden platform loosely anchored to the ocean floor.
All you can see in your vicinity is the endless blue of the sea and the azure sky 360 degrees around you. The only sound is of the waves making your feet wet as you balance near the edges.
You feel relaxed, calm and away from all civilization. You wonder about your loneliness and try to take in the grand beauty of nature all at once.
There is a realization of what a small speck you are in the whole world.
Yet the surreal image draws you to the present, you soak up the sun, bathe in shades of blue and let go of all your fears and anxieties.
Manta Resort in Pemba, Tanzania offers the experience of staying in their only floating villa.
Imagine spending a night in a bedroom underwater!
At sea level there is a simple and elegant “living room” where you can enjoy all your meals while looking at the sea. The living room is open, so you can jump into the sea for a nice snorkel or just to feel the water around. The washroom, shower, sitting area and mini fridge are all in and around the living room.
Dinner is served in the living room at a predetermined time when a boat arrives offering hot meals. Breakfast is served in the same way with the sea as a view.
From the terrace you can see the pitch-black night sky and all the fantastic night stars.
Needless to say, this place is a haven for all the stargazers out there.
The small staircase leads down to the spectacular underwater bedroom.
Complete with a cozy double bed, an air conditioning unit and books to help identify all the fish, this bedroom is the definition of luxury in the middle of the sea.
Here, the fish become your neighbors and friends. One can wonder how much humanity has achieved with this unique accommodation – just a must on “the bucket list”.
The underwater hotel is the second created by the artist Mikael Genberg.
If you want to have the same experience, but in Europe, On lake Mälaren you’ll find has his first creation, the Utter Inn.
